Landmark West
The Client
Landmark West is a New York nonprofit that works to achieve landmark status for various building on the Upper West Side. In addition to their work with landmark recognition, they offer community and school programs to teach about the neighborhood.
The Project
LW was in need of a redesign and branding for their education programs. Keeping the Past for the Future. They offer these programs for public school children, and lesson plan resources for teachers. The main goal of the redesigned page was to make the page as easy as possible for public school teachers to use. Fortunately the information that teachers would need--lesson objectives, key activities, grade level, resource materials--was already there. I made a more clear visual hierarchy of the different education programs and their content, so teachers can more easily find the program best for them and their students.
Branding
Keeping the Past for the Future underwent a brief branding process in conjunction with the webpage design. It needed an identity that was distinct but easily recognizable as part of the larger Landmark West organization. The new logo is based on Landmark West's logo, with a new color scheme. I also made a series of stickers for educators to give to students who completed the program.

Process and Redesign
The main goal of the redesigned page was to make the page as easy as possible for public school teachers to use. Fortunately the information that teachers would need--lesson objectives, key activities, grade level, resource materials--was already there. I made a more clear visual hierarchy of the different education programs and their content, so teachers can more easily find the program best for them and their students. The organization also wanted a brand for Keeping the Past for the Future, one that was distinct but also clearly related to the larger organization of Landmark West.
